BOB WOODWARD
Famous Watergate Investigator Back in the Headlines

The Washington Post reported on November 16 that: “In a startling development reported in today's Washington Post, it now appears that Bob Woodward was the first reporter to whom a senior administration official leaked the identity of CIA operative Valerie Plame.” This was a shocker to the Post and the public.

Bob Woodward was born on March 26, 1943 in Geneva, Illinois (time unknown) (view chart). Woodward is a SUN sign ARIES, the sign of the pioneer. He and Carl Bernstein led the Watergate investigation which led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.

Woodward also has the SUN trine PLUTO. The famous British astrologer, Nicholas Campion, describes this aspect as adding emotional power and determination to the personality, indicating a person who can be “obstinate, secretive and interested in the deeper and darker mysteries of life.” This just begins to describe the character of Bob Woodward.

As this story unfolds we will return in greater depth to the chart of Bob Woodward. Meanwhile, there were some very obvious astrological indicators of this event.

This revelation came to light at the time of the FULL MOON, almost simultaneously URANUS, the planet of surprises, moved into direct motion, aspecting Bob Woodward's chart (his SUN in ARIES sextile SATURN in 7 degrees GEMINI).

The planet of communication, MERCURY, had just gone Retrograde on November 14. During a Retrograde period, past issues arise to be reviewed. Once before Woodward had been the investigator. Now perhaps he will be the investigated.

Bob Woodward is only one of many reporters involved in Patrick Fitzgerald’s ongoing investigation of the CIA leak case. (view charts of Judith Miller and Tim Russert already on this site).

There is a crisis of credibility in the United States with regard to the Presidency, the Iraq War, and the media’s relationship to those in power. The Washington Post’s Ombudsman, Deborah Howell, said “This is not just the Post’s credibility, it touches all of journalism.”

Astrological Notes:

Woodward's progressed SUN is at 6 degrees GEMINI, being exactly squared by transiting URANUS at 6 degrees PISCES.
