Introduction

I've personally come full circle in my own attitude about Astrology. Many years ago I thought that Astrology could be nothing but nonsense. After years of study, practice and observation, I have developed an awe towards and compelling belief in the usefulnes of Astrology as a tool which can increase the understanding of our personal lives and the world around us. I have become committed to sharing any astrological knowledge I have with friends, clients and colleagues. ...And committed to never stop learning

As a professional astrologer, I have been consulting with clients since 1976. My astrological orientation has been primarily psychological and practical, with an emphasis on personal growth and relationships. I have been an author, columnist, lecturer, teacher and consultant.

Living both in Washington, D.C. and abroad has increased my interest in cross-cultural issues. While still seeing clients, I am focusing more attention on political and world events. Using astrological charts, it is fascinating to see the interconnections between prominent personalities and the charts of countries, events, and organizations.

My book, "Stars Over America," illustrates how three prominent individuals impacted the astrological destiny of the United States. The book was designed to introduce the novice to astrology as well as to inform the professional.

Personal Notes

In early 1957 on a trip through India, my interest in astrology began. A friend and I were invited to the house of India's future Ambassador to the United States. We learned that his son had consulted an astrologer in preparation for the upcoming new stage of his life and were astounded. We considered ourselves sophisticated American students and found it amazing and ridiculous that anyone from such an intelligent and educated family would pay attention to astrology. At the time, we had no idea how pervasive astrology was in the world.

It wasn't until 1971 that I had my first reading from Svetlana Godillo, and I became instantly gripped by astrology. Later, she astounded me by describing my children with such insight and accuracy using just their birth dates and times. I soon became a serious student and then subsequently a professional.

Never before had I found a discipline that integrated all my interests so completely. Throughout my life, I had been interested in a variety of fields such as acting, psychology, spiritual explorations, and international relations. Busy with marriage and children, I never committed to myself to one field. Astrology integrated so many of my interests - it was a perfect match and continues to fascinate me every day.

My Teachers and Influences

I am indebted to many great teachers from classes, books, and conferences and it's impossible to list them all. My primary influences were:

  • Svetlana Godillo - my first mentor.
  • Barbara Watters - advisor to clients in Washington, DC throughout World War II.
  • Michael Lutin, with whom I served a practicum.

I travelled and studied abroad from a young age. My first husband was Chilean American and then I married an American diplomat who was a China specialist. While he was the U.S. Ambassador to Singapore, I studied and lectured on Western, Vedic, and Chinese astrology; however, I now practice only Western astrology. My husband and I share a large extended family.
